Signs to Change Your Supply Chain Services

There may be times when the cracks start to show in your business and you aren’t providing or receiving the best services possible. One area where this may happen is your supply chain services. If your partners are starting to display problems, they need to be addressed immediately.

Signs and Symptoms

Recently, Target Canada revealed that since its inception, there have been problems with its supply chain companies. Among the issues Target noted were barcodes on products that did not match the company’s barcode database, inventory mismatching, and incorrect information regarding availability. As a result, Target had to invest money to investigate these issues in order to rectify them.

If you have experienced similar problems, there’s something amiss with your own supply chain companies. Regardless of how long you’ve been working with them, it might be time to reevaluate your relationship, or even see if anyone else can do better.

Getting Better

First, there’s no need to jump the gun; the problem with your supply chain companies might be minor. For instance, there may be a quick fix for errors in their logistics solutions or an alternate way to fulfill the promised kit assembly services. Just make sure to address the issue with the company and keep an eye on the results.

If the issue persists, it’s time to pursue other options. Scout out another business that can offer solutions, employ better technology and modern solutions, or offer improved in-house services, such as product assembly. If you’ve gotten to the point where certain problems have continued and yet not been rectified, taking the hard line of finding a new supply chain provider just might have to happen if your own business is to improve.
